web design process
We design each web site specifically for each client. We need to ensure
that we understand your current situation and also what you hope to achieve
from your web site. At various stages in your project, we will present
our ideas to you and get your comments and approval before moving on
to the next stage.
initial briefing
- discuss your objectives for the web design project
- discuss how visitors will find the site (search engines and other
sources)
- discuss how the site fits with your other marketing activities
- review usability and accessibility issues
- review current web site (if any)
- review existing corporate identity, logo, letterhead, marketing literature,
colour schemes
- discuss domain names
- discuss web hosting and email requirements
proposal
- we will produce a proposal outlining the type of site that we are
proposing and the fee for the work
- your signed approval is required before work commences
mockups
- we generally produce mockups of at least 2 pages (e.g. home page
and one other) which will show:
- web page layout
- navigation
- colour scheme and link colours
- we will present these to you together with our site structure proposals,
discuss them with you and incorporate your feedback in amended mockups
if necessary
- your signed approval is required before work continues (any subsequent
changes to site structure, navigation or page layout will incur additional
costs)
full development
- you will supply all copy, photography, illustrations, maps and other
material for the site, unless we have agreed otherwise
- we will produce all the web pages
- we will validate the XHTML or HTML
- we will validate the CSS
- we will check the accessibility of the site against the Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines
- we will test the site in a range of web browsers
- we will put the site live on a private, password-protected area of
the Interact site for you to review
- we will discuss the site again with you and make minor amendments
as agreed
go live
- when you are happy with the site, we will put it live on a public
web server - this can be your web server or we can offer web
hosting at competitive rates if required
- we will submit the site to major search engines
